Trip to Bombay

Today I'm headed to Louisville, Kentucky for my first ever Indian wedding.  I'm excited to see what will be in store and can't wait to see my dear friend from SCAD in her brightly colored wedding attire (that she got in India!).  To help get in the mood, here are some slightly odd photos from the Chanel pre-fall ad campaign.  Last December, Karl Lagerfeld showed the Chanel collection that is debuting now which he entitled Paris-Bombay.  It's a mix of classic tweeds with Indian embroideries and intricacies.  While I don't support model Daria Strokous' dreadlock hairdo, the clothing details are still stunning.

Enjoy!

Southern Hospitality

This weekend my mom and I explored Savannah, Georgia.  We stayed at the beautiful boutique hotel, Mansion on Forsyth Park right across from the park in the historic district.  Savannah has so many beautiful streets and squares that feature historic homes that were built in the late 1800s, many before the Civil War.  Because many of these homes were spared during the war by the North they are still standing today and you can visit them and see original features in the home.  My mom and I visited the Williams Mercer house, which was featured in the movie Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, the Juliette Gordon Low house and the Andrew Low house.  Juliette Gordon Low founded the Girl Scouts 100 years ago so the last two homes were replete with groups of Girl Scouts.  We also spent a day on Tybee Island, right outside of Savannah.  We explored the historic lighthouse and had lunch on the beach and got some sun.  It was a great way to spend a Saturday.

The other best part of Savannah is the food.  Everywhere we ate featured delicious seafood and southern favorites.  My mom ate plenty of shrimp and grits and I had so many scallops!  We had an amazing meal down by the river and enjoyed the amazing lunch buffet at Paula Deen's restaurant, the Lady and Sons.  All in all it was a great trip and we had so much fun exploring (although our legs were very sore from lots of stairs and walking).  Enjoy some pics and visit Savannah if you can!
