The Fountain of Youth

Last week I saw the new Wes Anderson film, Moonrise Kingdom.  Set in the 1960s in small town on the New England coast, the movie follows two twelve year olds as they decide to run away together.  Frances McDormand and Bill Murray star as the young girl's parents and Edward Norton as the boy's somewhat inept scout leader all being lead in the search for the young couple by an amazingly hilarious Bruce Willis.  The film is sweet and funny reminding us all how innocent and uncomplicated young love is.  Like Anderson's other film's (ie. Rushmore and The Royal Tenebaums) the humor is dry and the sets and characters seem to come from a whole other world.  It's one of my favorite kinds of movies, where you have to be quick to get every joke and each time you see it you find something else great about it.

Go see Moonrise Kingdom and feel the joy of being a kid again.
